Job Title:Executive Director of Multicultural Learningand Engagement

Summary of Position: Under the leadership of the Vice President for Diversity and Intercultural Integration (DII), the Director of Multicultural Learning and Engagement (MLE) at IWU National & Global (N&G) is responsible for leading diversity efforts to impact organizational culture, address the needs of students and develop strategies, implementation, and oversight of initiatives for diversity and belonging. The Director must be team-oriented, confidential, and a collaborative leader who develops, plans, and implements initiatives maintaining Kingdom-focused diversity as priority for National & Global faculty, staff, students, and curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads the Multicultural Learning and Engagement Champions Team comprised of various faculty and staff from across the National & Global organization
- Develops strategies with key stakeholders to collaboratively support diversity and belonging at National & Global
- Consults with students, student-led groups/organizations, departments, faculty, and staff on matters related to cultural awareness and responsiveness
- Aids in developing and implementing diversity goals and objectives for enrollment and retention efforts
- Develops, in collaboration with N&G teams, and manages resources/ initiatives of the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Integration (including, but not limited to, advising for new pipeline/pathways or other programs)
- Advises and confers with employees regarding confidential problem resolution
- Advocates and champions inclusive excellence by integrating diversity, belonging and intercultural integration efforts into IWU National & Global’s institutional operations for long-term sustainability
- Proactively engages with students, staff and faculty to evaluate trends and identify areas for growth
- Develops content and facilitates Multicultural Learning and Engagement workshops, trainings meetings, seminars, and orientations for faculty, staff, and students
- Together with the National & Global leadership, collects and analyzes data on student recruitment, retention, and support programs; recommends changes as appropriate
- Collaborates with relevant offices, committees, and stakeholders to develop, administer, and analyze data from feedback, institutional reports, or other sources as appropriate
- Leverages and delegates the expertise of the Champions Team and other subject-matter experts in collective efforts to consult within the institution and with external stakeholders (partners, regional leaders, community organizations, etc.)
- Monitors diversity-specific data dashboards for the National & Global context and reports to appropriate stakeholders
- Synthesizes data to support accreditation and other program evaluation processes
- Maintains and presents budget, reports, and financial projections as directed
- In coordination with outreach efforts of National & Global and the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Integration, builds relationships and partnerships within the regional communities as well as in the greater DEI community
- Provides back up support for the Vice President of Diversity and Intercultural Integration by attending meetings and/or events where necessary and appropriate
- Arranges external speakers and related event planning details and activities for workshops or events
- Serves as member of internal and external committees when directed by the Vice President
- Collaborates in activities and initiatives with IWU main campus and Wesley Seminary
- Travel regionally to connect with distributed employees and promote the National & Global culture
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Vice President in collaboration with the Chancellor of IWU National & Global

Education
- Master’s degree in a related field required
- Terminal degree in a related field preferred
- Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- None
- Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:
- Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Cultural Intelligence (CQ), or equivalent
- Familiarity and/or experience with relevant regulation of admission and maintenance of status for visas for international students and duties of a designated school official (DSO)
Experience
- Required:
- Three to five (3-5) years of related diversity leadership with demonstrated track record of progressive leadership
- Experience in working in collaborative contexts across departmental lines is important. 3-5 years of supervisory, educational or project management experience in a similar role, or relevant supervisory office experience in higher education, including the training, development, coordination, and evaluation of complex work among a team of staff and/or students (may run concurrently)
- Successful candidates must possess a strong Christian commitment, adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement, and fully support the IWU Diversity Statement and actions related to it
- Preferred:
- Bilingual
- Experience developing structural, cultural, and related competencies impacting academic development and performance (e.g., first-generation, international education, students within diverse backgrounds and identities)
- Experience in organizational quality improvement of higher education or diverse cultural contexts.
- Experience in working in collaborative contexts across departmental lines

- Fluidity with diverse communities, cultures, stakeholders, and/or other related demographics within DEI
- Ability to maintain confidential information related to students and others
