Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings,
and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. SHP is a moderate, bipartisan organization that supports sensible policy solutions that address the human side of gun violence and make schools safer.
SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

Position Summary
The Executive Assistant will provide administrative and operational support for the Chief Program Officer (CPO), Chief Operating Office (COO), and Chief Advocacy Officer (CAO), including scheduling meetings for both internal and external stakeholders, processing expense reports, booking travel, and briefing prior to meetings as needed. We estimate roughly 50% of this individual’s time will be spent supporting the CPO, and the other 50% will be divided between the COO and CAO.
Some travel required as requested. This position can be fully remote.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage invites for events and meetings with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
- Booking travel as needed,
- Providing action items or follow ups after meetings as needed,
- Providing briefings as needed before external meetings,
- Scheduling calendar reminders,
- Completing expense reports,
- Drafting thank you notes after external meetings,
- Scribing minutes at meetings
- Other duties as identified given organizational needs
- Have a basic understanding of data literacy and willingness to use and refer to data
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in administrative duties, preferably working with c-suite individuals
- Technology literate: proficiency using Microsoft for emails and scheduling and ability to learn new systems
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills with ability to quickly and logically set priorities, meet deadlines, and anticipate obstacles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external contacts
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to escalate concerns/challenges appropriately and proactively consider and offer alternative solutions.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team with a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and discretion.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 (New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity.)

Our organization operates within a distributed workforce, allowing for location flexibility across the country for most positions. We provide remote office support for all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly wifi reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
