Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To provide immediate assistance to the CEO with all logistical aspects of the school.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

● Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Education, Human Resources, Public Administration or related field

● Speaks, reads and writes Hmong preferably

● Prior successful experience in charter schools

● Proven successful experiences leading in an urban setting comprised of a diverse student population

● Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community

● Must be an instructional leader who can support and facilitate the professional learning of his or her staff and is

focused on continuous improvement

● Willingness and ability to create clear expectations for staff and students and hold students and staff accountable to

those expectations

● Strong understanding of special education

● Knowledge of all state requirements

● Knowledge of MARRS

● Knowledge of Title, Nutrition, Special Education and Q-Comp programs

● Knowledge of STAR report

● Knowledge of assessment and accountability

● Ability to write grants

● Ability to lead change, have courageous conversations, resolve conflicts, and make date-driven decisions

● Possesses excellent public relations, interpersonal and problem solving skills

● Strong collaborator and communicator

● Compassionate, charismatic, and a leader with integrity

● Commitment to staff development, especially in the area of teacher leadership development

● Organized, self-motivated and highly principled in order to effectively motivate all staff, promote professionalism

and develop good working relationships at all levels

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative Support

  • Manage and prioritize the CEO’s calendar, meetings, phone calls and messages
  • Schedule meetings with parents, scholars, staff and/or administrators as directed
  • Prepare correspondences and responses via email, letters, videos etc.
  • Prepare presentation reports via google docs, PowerPoint and/or any other Microsoft office suite software
  • Support with the planning and coordination of all school-wide events and activities to update and debrief with the

CEO

  • Any and all administrative duties such as copying, printing, labeling, cutting, ordering, etc.

Community Engagement and Support

  • Support the CEO by keeping up to date with current and legislative events pertaining to education
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to the CEO on policy changes pertaining to education and social services

impacting the communities we serve

  • Establish and retain relationships with community leaders and organizations by attending community
  • events, sessions, and/or conferences
  • Keep the CEO informed of current events and changes happening in the community Coordinate meetings and site

visits with funders and fundraising partners

  • Attend funder meetings and trainings
  • Partner with the CEO to maintain relationship with school authorizer

Academic and Operations Support

  • Update and track changes in organizational structure
  • Works directly with the Principal and Director of Business and Operations on changes to protocols to

update Executive Director

  • Be updated on all academic and operations strategic plan and goals
  • Track all data changes for the Executive Director from assessments to changes in building infrastructure
  • Support the Executive/Leadership Team in taking minutes and notes for all meetings
  • Work with IT, Data, Compliance, and DAC teams to be up to date with processes, protocols etc.

Other specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Assist with the monitoring and reporting all required data to the Minnesota Department of Education

● Assist with completing NCLB reporting requirements including annual application, Parent Involvement Plan, Title I

meetings, and AYP activities

● Assist with compliance with Sponsor’s accountability plan

● Assist with ensuring that Special Education services are being delivered in full compliance with local, state and

federal regulations.

● Assist with providing data and recommendations for budget planning and academic planning

● Assist with developing and maintaining appropriate systems of internal controls at the school level

● Assist with Q-Comp

● Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO and/or Superintendent
