The Role
The Execution Controls Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the execution of multiple projects within the VS Automation Powertrain Execution team. Responsibilities include managing individual project workload as well as leading project teams. Project scope includes greenfield and brownfield powertrain projects. Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions with ME and VS engineering, plant engineering, other manufacturing engineers and a multitude of others to successfully launch new systems. You will be working in a centralized engineering center and plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Prioritization of workload to enable employees to accomplish all responsibilities.
Ability to develop plans into execution strategies that optimally utilizes manufacturing resources, suppliers, financial and ME Centers
Seeks input from internal and/or external customers to better understand customer needs.
Project management for Powertrain Assembly Equipment
Support design and builds through development of processes, tooling, and equipment all while working with ME powertrain engineering to refine designs for manufacturing.
Design, build, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality assemblies.
Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
Providing technical direction to and coordination of less experienced process engineers
Perform People Leader responsibilities for direct reports including CAP – goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews
Support manager with general administrative tasks such as managing budget targets, approving travel requests, expense reports, PTAS and purchasing requests; planning vacation schedules.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent training.
Demonstrated understanding of plant floor and design for manufacturability
Extremely high-level analytical ability where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.
Knowledge of quality control procedures, manufacturing procedures and GM plant floor systems.
Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and communications methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals and objectives.
Actively identifies new areas for learning, creates and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
ME experience with successful individual achievements and strong team-based achievements
Desirable knowledge on Powertrain systems such as Headlines, Block Lines, Engine Assembly Lines.
