The Controls Execution Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the execution of Orion RESS inside of the Orion Assembly Plant. Responsibilities include managing individual project workload as well as leading project teams across multiple organizations and levels. Project scope includes Pack Main Line Assembly, Module Assembly, LMS, and other propulsion technologies. Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions with product engineering, plant engineering, other manufacturing engineers and a multitude of others to successfully launch new products. You will be working in multiple environments central engineering, plant environment, and OEM where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
Prioritization of workload to enable employees to accomplish all responsibilities
Project management for large projects for GPS programs
Procure/launch new and major programs for controls engineering
Maintain working contacts with vendors, GM IT, other internal engineering disciplines and management at plant and headquarters
Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes
Stay abreast of new controls technology, including robotics, computer graphics, and computer controls (CNC, PLC, PC, HMI, networks)
Lead/Participate in safety g-Risk activities with cross functional group
Support deployment of best common systems and methods as defined in the PT Global Controls Bill of Process
Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safety
Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
Providing technical direction to and coordination of less experienced controls engineers
Perform People Leader responsibilities for direct reports including but not limited to:
CAP – goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews
Managing results and evaluating/coaching individual performance
Compensation planning and communication
Training and development planning
Support manager with general administrative tasks such as managing budget targets, approving travel requests, expense reports, PTAS and purchasing request & planning vacation schedules
Implement and maintain key safety processes and programs
Additional Description
Your Skills And Abilities (Required Qualifications)
5+ years of Controls Design and Execution experience
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Demonstrated level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
Technical knowledge and ability in controls engineering disciplines
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
Knowledge and ability to implement lean manufacturing principles
Technical knowledge and ability in controls engineering disciplines
Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC and HMI's
CNC experience
Proven ability in project management skills
What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Launch and/or Plant experience highly preferred
Knowledge and the ability teach both GPS and VS controls standards highly preferred
