Testing Required:
Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.
Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
- Supervises a team of skilled personnel responsible for the safe, secure, reliable operation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Measurement systems to facilitate operation of the gas system. Leads a team to analyze Gas Measurement data for allocation, billing, financial reporting and optimize, problem solve, and ensure safe and reliable operations in the OT environment. Span of control: = 5-15 FTEs
Leads the OT team to establish and maintain SCADA integration of remote fields sites collaborating with gas operations and engineering.
Provides leadership support to OT staff to troubleshoot and problem solve Operational Technology software, hardware, and communication issues that impact Gas Operations.
Ensures accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all flow measurement and gas quality data for on-time month end financial settlement. Approves and verifies all edits and estimates utilizing established procedures and practices.
Supports the periodic, formal audit review for recordkeeping, estimates, and adjustments of Gas Measurement data utilized for financial transactions; and LAUF gas (Lost and Unaccounted For) reduction.
Ensures adherence of company and gas industry best practices/standards for OT and Measurement systems.
Manages special projects for Measurement and OT systems to improve reliability and performance of the SCADA and Measurement systems.
Benchmarks gas industry and company best practices/procedures for OT and Measurement systems and applies them to improve processes.
Establishes and maintains collaboration with information technology (IT) organization to support the achievement of strategic plans for Gas operations by implementing timely and cost-effective business solutions that will integrate within the security infrastructure yielding optimal results.
Leads the continuous improvement commitment and efforts within area of responsibility: designing processes; establishing quality and quantity standards and metrics; collecting, refining, adapting and communicating best practices; sharing knowledge and developing staff in a systematic fashion. Uses process design outcomes to solve problems.
Ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within area of responsibility; planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special/ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selections, training, coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology and 7 years of experience in Gas Measurement, data management, Operational Technology (OT) or gas system operations; inclusive of 1 year of leadership experience (supervision, project/program management, workload capacity, lead training/mentoring)
Preferred:
Broad knowledge of Gas Transmission, Distribution, gathering systems, and utility accounting functions
Experience with field equipment, including flow computers, programmable logic controllers and remote terminal units
Experience with SCADA Operational Technology systems
Experience in Database systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle, or similar)
Other Requirements:
Analytical and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
Ability to provide effective leadership and maintain a motivated and skilled staff
Basic knowledge of customer billing system
