This position is responsible to direct the overall daily operations and support activities of the Food Safety Raw Materials Quality Control Lab in Lansing, Michigan. This will include all activities related to overall product quality including testing, scheduling, reporting, trending and nonconforming material approvals.

This position is responsible to direct the overall daily operations and support activities of the Food Safety Raw Materials Quality Control Lab in Lansing, Michigan. This will include all activities related to overall product quality including testing, scheduling, reporting, trending and nonconforming material approvals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee operation of Food Safety Raw Materials QC lab.
- Manage activities of departmental employees.
- Perform product approvals.
- Training of departmental employees.
- Revise/develop QC documentation for all QC processes.
- Perform and/or direct routine microbiological and immunological testing to determine compliance with specified performance standards as needed.
- Adhere to ISO guidelines in daily activities.
- Perform equipment qualification. Assist with maintenance of loaner equipment program.
- Participate on technical review or new product development teams and develop new QC procedures for transferred products.
- Streamline routine activities/troubleshoot manufacturing and QC issues.
- Interact routinely with management in an effective manner.
- Meet individual and departmental goals and objectives.
- Lead special projects as assigned by manager.
- Resolve conflict effectively.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum Bachelors of Science degree in biological science-related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years related work experience in a regulated environment.
- A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
