Encompassing our flagship Roasteries and large-scale Reserve stores, Starbucks Reserve locations are designed to spotlight our exquisite Starbucks Reserve coffee and showcase our heritage, expertise, and dedication to coffee craft through interactive coffee experiences where barista craft is the cornerstone. Opened in December 2018, the New York Roastery brings our great passion for coffee to the greatest city in the world. Taking its cue from the indomitable spirit of New Yorkers and the hardworking ethos of the meatpacking district, the New York Roastery is both workshop and stage, a three-dimensional window into the coffee journey. As an events specialist in the New York Roastery, you will be responsible for Roastery event planning/tours, creative development, and execution of events. While working with clients and distinguished guests, you will be able to apply your skillset to:
Events Specialty:
- Coordinates and hosts event tours, and creates the Roastery Experience for attendees and distinguished guests
- Consult with perspective clients on event design, menu options, scheduling, and pricing
- Acts as single point of contact with customers from consultation to sale, and through the event to ensure satisfaction
- Responsible for business development to maximize revenue
Leadership:
- Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks
- Role models a passion for service, coffee curiosity, operations excellence and innovation while inspiring partners to deliver the Roastery & Reserve Experience
- Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume and manages smooth transitions to keep store operating to established standards and to set a positive example for the store team
Planning & Execution:
- Works with general manager and management team to help inform and develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results
- Collaborates cross functionally with the Global Starbucks’ teams to ensure open communication across markets
- Provides input into store staffing levels and decisions to ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling and to maximize partner development
Business Requirements:
- Communicates observations, actions, outcomes, and follow-up items to management team on a regular basis
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with others by understanding and addressing individual motivation, cultural nuances, needs and concerns
- Supports management team in ensuring partners adhere to operational compliance requirements
- Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs to recognize partners
Basic Qualifications
- Progressively responsible retail or restaurant management experience
- Experience for appropriate specialty, including:
- Experience hosting guests or large groups for private events, consulting with perspective clients on menu design, and other administrative tasks to staff and plan group events
- Progressively responsible retail or restaurant management experience
- Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Organization, planning, and strong problem-solving skills
- 21+ years of age
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
- Ability to carry 35lb on a consistent basis

Preferred Qualifications
- Additional languages beneficial
- Proficiency using store computer systems and programs
- Effective oral & written communication skills
- Organization, planning, and prioritization skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Education: High school/GED
