Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Technical Events Production, the incumbent's primary responsibility is assisting in the production of live events in the Business School's event spaces. More specifically, this role is responsible for assisting with operational setups, event recordings, live streams, video graphics, accessibility/captions, and all technical aspects of events, including support to clients. This includes managing phone, email, and walkup communications for requests and emergency issues utilizing an ITIL-based incident tracking system. The incumbent also works closely with CBS' multimedia staff, event vendors, and supporting VIPs to deliver high-quality live event operations and recorded broadcasts.
Responsibilities
- Works with the Associate Director along with the Multimedia team to offer world-class AV and IT support of event technologies to clients. Schedules events and Multimedia team assistance as needed.
- Provide in-person event assistance with AV, computing, and network systems in support of the Business School's event operations.
- Immediately responds to, troubleshoots, and resolves issues reported in CBS events in coordination with the Multimedia team.
- Communication with faculty, staff, and students through a variety of mediums, ensuring client service, satisfaction, and issue resolution.
- Schedules recordings (audio and video) for events in the school with Echo360 lecture capture systems and with freelance videographers. Coordinates and supervises freelance Videographers and Technicians as needed with clients.
- Assists in the service, specification, and repairing of audio/visual equipment systems for conferences, meetings, and events as needed, including Crestron NVX Systems, BIAMP Tesira Audio Systems, Vaddio AV Bridges, Shure Microphones, video matrices, and live stream video switchers.
- Coordinates purchasing efforts, and asset management and executes billing procedures.
- Provides user support (training and documentation) to CBS affiliates including faculty, administrators, and students in the use of the School's multimedia services.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required. 2-4 years related experience required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to manage and organize a high level of information and detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and leverage creative problem-solving is crucial.
Excellent customer service skills, particularly as they relate to providing advisory and consulting services to the faculty of a leading business school, are imperative.
Familiarity with Crestron, matrix signal routing, digital audio systems, and video live streaming is necessary.
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 45lbs is required.
Work week is Monday-Friday 8 am - 4 pm and occasional mornings & Saturdays with compensating days off during Monday-Friday. Shifts and work days may fluctuate as academic demands require. Opportunity for limited/partial hybrid schedule during non-event days and off-peak event seasons.
Preferred Qualifications
At least an additional two years of relevant experience working with classroom, media and event technology.
Experience with video Production in a studio setting, including high end cameras, lighting experience, sound production, and post-production.
Experience in a higher education or other academic setting is highly desirable.
Networking experience and experience with fiber termination is a plus, as is general familiarity with Windows and/or Apple operating systems.
Familiarity with video encoding and media transferring is a plus.
