Position: Events Manager
Department: Development
Supervisor: Director of Development
Compensation: $55,000+, Executive Support Salary Schedule
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday; Typical Business Hours. Occasional evening or weekend work.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Events Manager functions as a part of the Development Department. The primary function of this manager is to manage all major fundraising events including Men’s Breakfast, Women of Achievement Awards Celebration and the Full Circle Luncheon.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a similar field preferred, but not required, or at least two years’ experience and proven success in communications, marketing, and/or public relations
- At least two years in event management and/or hospitality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google docs, and other electronic platforms
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including editing
- Must have excellent command of the English language
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to effectively work independently, prioritize, multi-task and shift tasks
- Able to work in shared workspace with distractions
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (or other database management software) is preferred, but not required,
- Be able to demonstrate the mission of YWCA Kalamazoo and adhere to it

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
- Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including:
- Concept development and brainstorming
- Budgeting and financial management
- Venue selection and site management
- Vendor selection and contracting
- Logistics and operations management
- Volunteer coordination and management (with Volunteer Coordinator)
- Marketing and promotion (with Marketing team)
- Event evaluation and reporting (with Evaluation team)
- Support Director of Development and Vice President of Development in securing sponsorships and partnerships to support events
- Represent YWCA at events and build relationships with key stakeholders
- Manage Event function of Raiser’s Edge database
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices
- Fulfill sponsor obligations in tandem with leadership
- Support the Director of Development with special projects as capacity allows
- Safeguard confidential information gained as a result of this position.

- Perform other duties as assigned in support of YWCA Development Department and all fundraising activities

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 15 pounds.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Orientation to YWCA Personnel Policies, Mission, Purpose and One Imperative.
- Racial Justice Training
- Orientation to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Confidentiality, Mandatory Reporting.
- Other appropriate training and in-service which will occur during employment.
- Health and Safety/OSHA and Emergency Procedures Orientation.
