Events Coordinator-Part-Time

The Harborside Inn is now accepting applications for a part-time marketing & events coordinator!

This position is primarily remote but must be on-site during events. Team member must reside on Martha's Vineyard.

The Harborside Inn is Martha's Vineyard's premier waterfront resort on the harbor in the heart of Edgartown. With 90 guest rooms and luxury hotel amenities, it is the perfect place to vacation in the heart of Edgartown with all the galleries, dining, shops, and nightlife the town has to offer.

Anticipated Start Date:

As soon as possible.

Schedule:

We anticipate this position being 5 to 15 hours per week.

Compensation:

We anticipate this position paying $20 to $25 per hour. In addition, it will be eligible for commissions from events booked.

Position Description:

The marketing & event coordinator plays a key role in our mission to deliver world class service and products and a memorable vacation experience to everyone that passes through our doors. This position attends local events to network and generate event business, creates content for social media and other marketing distribution channels, as well as books and coordinates events (pre-event to post-event), etc. In addition, the position monitors social media channels, responds to comments, and engages with the audience.

Qualifications:

All of our team members are passionate about guest service and helping others. They initiate conversations, anticipate the needs of others, and interact with others in a courteous and efficient manner. They love being a team player and are detail oriented as well as flexible/adaptable.

Education/Experience:

• Previous marketing, social media, and event experience are helpful.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Social media management best practices
• Knowledge of online and traditional marketing channels
• Ability to create creative content
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
• Public relations and community marketing skills and abilities.
• Initiating conversations with others and anticipating their needs and want
• Conflict resolutions
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Detail-orientation
• Organizational skills

• Understanding of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics
