Reports to: Director of Development

Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking a Family Engagement and Events Coordinator. The Family Engagement and Events Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for key Advancement events to ensure they are well-planned and well-executed. As part of the Advancement team, this position serves as the School’s liaison to the Parents’ Association.

Major Responsibilities:
  • work closely with the Advancement Office to ensure strong events and parent programs at BB&N.
  • responsible for key advancements events such as Ninth Grade Parent Reception, Senior Parent Dinner, Grandfriends’ Day, Leadership Reception, New Parents’ Reception, Volunteer Appreciation Reception, and as needed for other events.
  • research and select merchandise and novelty items to use as stewardship and thank you gifts.
  • work with the President of the PA to establish yearly goals for the Association and meet weekly for updates and strategy sessions
  • submit PA reimbursement requests, and meet bi-weekly with the PA Treasurer to track the PA budget.
  • attend campus PA meetings and other sessions with campus directors as appropriate.
  • attend campus activities and informal campus meetings as directed to establish effective working relationships with parents, faculty, and staff.
  • provide administrative support for the PA nominating process.
  • facilitate weekly parent communications for three campuses and reconcile calendar adjustments, serve as a key participant in weekly calendar committee meetings which set dates and times of all school events
  • assist in the preparation of campus training manuals, and the all school handbook as needed.
  • take a leadership role in supporting special PA initiatives – e.g. Parent Affinity Groups, Lower, Middle, and Upper School Parents Association Events, communications policies/guidelines, and all school PA events (potlucks, grade level socials, etc).
  • provide volunteer and administrative support for the Lower School Circus and MS Winter Adventure and attend planning meetings.

Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of Events planning. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following skills, competencies, and experience:
  • demonstrated experience in event planning and building a vital core of volunteers.
  • strong customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, faculty, staff, and vendors.
  • excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, proactive self-starter, and a collaborative member of the advancement team.
  • excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to articulate the School’s mission and priorities.
  • ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • work within budget constraints and adhere to deadlines.
  • ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • event planning experience required

Salary:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00
Compensation for full-time employees includes a 403(b) plan with up to a 10% match of salary and other competitive benefits offerings. Benefits offered to eligible employees include health & dental insurance; commuter benefits; long-term disability insurance, and more.
