Fay School is a day and boarding school located in Southborough, MA, just 25 miles west of Boston. Our beautiful 66-acre campus serves 475 students in Kindergarten through grade nine in a diverse and authentically multicultural community. Founded in 1866, Fay was the first junior boarding school in the United States, and today 150 of our students are boarders in grades 7-9 who come from more than 20 countries and from across the United States. Description
Fay School seeks candidates who are hardworking and committed to working in a team environment to join its Facilities department. The primary responsibilities of this position include care and upkeep of the school’s campus, including athletic fields, swimming pools, vehicles, and equipment. This is a full-time position and is eligible for benefits.
Position Summary:
·Primary focus on coordinator of school events, including setup and breakdown, and package/mail delivery.
·Secondary focus on providing care and upkeep of the school’s campus buildings, vehicles, and equipment.
Essential Educational Qualifications/Experience:
· Hold a current driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle
· Prior experience in general carpentry and plumbing, flooring, and drywall
· Preferred: event setups
Essential Responsibilities/Job Functions:
· Organize, prioritize, and perform assigned tasks with or without direct supervision
· Ensure timely delivery of packages from the main drop-off location to specific distribution
spaces
· Organize, schedule, set up and break down events as requested
· Perform scheduled and assigned tasks and general repairs to campus buildings at the expected standards of safety, operation, and cleanliness
· Observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices, perform work
following recognized trade and school standards
· Operate small power tools and snow-blowing equipment, including snow blowers, plows, and removal equipment.

Essential Physical Skills:
· Ability to use light and heavy equipment such as ladders, power tools, hand and electrical measuring tools, mowers, and utility vehicles
· Ability to drive school vehicles
· Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
· Ability to use package handling equipment: two-wheelers, furniture dolly, etc.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including stooping, bending, reaching, and carrying
· Ability to move around campus on foot or by vehicle
· Ability to communicate with spoken and written words
· Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone
Degree of Independent Action Performed:
Medium, due to the extent and frequency of seasonal events and package delivery. The
extent to which the duties are circumscribed by standard practice, the exercise of judgment,
the amount of resourcefulness and planning required, and their original application. Refers
to the basic knowledge and education required to perform the job.
