POSITION SUMMARY:
The Evening Welcome Center Coordinator plays an integral role in Member engagement and retention. Under the direct supervision of the Membership Director, this individual will be responsible for managing the Welcome Center during evenings and weekends, keeping the culture and environment consistent. Working directly with the Membership Director, the Evening Welcome Center Coordinator will go above and beyond to create an environment where members and community members feel like a part of the YMCA community. The Evening Welcome Center Coordinator should feel empowered to find creative ways to constantly engage and WOW our members. This individual will provide supervisory assistance, and leadership to part-time evening and weekend staff in alignment with the Membership Director’s expectations and will also act as a shift leader during times that other Directors are not in the building. The Evening Welcome Center Coordinator will also be expected to perform all functions of a Welcome Center Representative during designated shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Model a culture of exceptional member service by empowering Welcome Center Representatives to think bigger and do more; encourage doing the Great Thing to be the norm.
- The Evening Welcome Center Coordinator will lead by example and coach others to offer our members and prospective members an experience rather than a transaction, keeping the culture and environment consistent during transition of day to evening shifts
- Be a leader in the implementation of Most Welcoming Place and ABR.
- Assume the role of Welcome Center Representative during designated desk shifts; May be called upon to offer support in other areas of the building.
- Maintain member engagement and satisfaction while handling sensitive issues at the Welcome Center and other program areas, communicating with appropriate staff as necessary.
- Perform regular safety and quality standard checks in the building, and ensure the facility is properly secured upon closing.
- Ensure protocols for emergencies are followed through and documented appropriately and with attention to detail.
- Multi-task (helping members, answering phone, handle other duties)
- Be efficient, proficient and knowledgeable in member services, cashiering, and decision making.
- Know information about other departments and their offerings to better serve potential members and current members.
- Communicate effectively with adults and children alike.
- Use good judgment and make decisions independently, but to consult leadership with questions and concerns.
- Competent computer skills; Windows environment

- Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as work and train on a computer.
