What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
The focus of this role is the development of mixing and powder preparation equipment, critical to the launch of dry battery electrode and the 4680 cell. Equipment Engineering Technicians, will work as members of a diverse equipment development and execution team. This individual will apply his/her technical skills to assemble, install, operate, and optimize equipment to take it from a proof-of-concept to a full mass production solution. The manufacturing technician is a key member of the Equipment Engineering team focused on developing innovative processes, equipment, and tooling to accelerate the world’s transition to GWh Hours of sustainable energy.
- Perform equipment assembly, setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality and efficiency standards for equipment in varying development stages
- Identify problems and potential solutions to troubleshoot issues as they arise during engineering builds
- Document results during and post engineering development builds in a clear and concise manner
- Assemble and test manufactured goods for dedicated tooling and or processes
- Rework or fabricate prototype parts when needed
- Load and unload material, weight varying, into containers and tools
- Collaboratively develop operating procedures for equipment or new processes in standard format
- Conduct analytical tests, measure and record data using defined tools and software
- Support work area safety, cleanliness, material usage and organization
- Participate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, output, and tool uptime
- Strong mechanical aptitude with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, with lots of experience in operating and troubleshooting a wide range of manufacturing equipment
- Proficiency with power tools and good motor skills,
- Ability to operate shop tools (manual mill, lathe, etc.)
- Ability to weld MIG/TIG a plus
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SharePoint a plus
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings a plus – willingness to learn a requirement
- Excellent attention to detail, good organization, analytical and reasoning skills
- Ability to work with others in cross-functional team environment and follow both written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable with frequent change of direction, dynamic work environment and passion to perform time-sensitive analysis under pressure
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$32.00 - $60.70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
