Sr. Equipment Design Engineer, Cell Electrode

Tesla's cell manufacturing engineering group is looking for a highly motivated equipment development engineer to accelerate our next-generation dry electrode manufacturing program. This role will be involved in the design, development, commissioning and ramping of pilot and mass production equipment, while working in a cross-functional team to test, validate, and roll-out process and product design changes.

Dry electrode is a key aspect of our battery cell program which are critical to Tesla vehicles and storage systems. This role will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our products. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they join in a highly motivated and capable team to make unbelievable things into reality.

• 5+ years of experience in equipment design engineering orequivalent, designing complex electromechanical systems from the ground up
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Material Science, EngineeringPhysics, or equivalent
• Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and ademonstrated aptitude to learn
• Demonstrated data driven and structured approach to designand troubleshooting
• Experienced in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred) withknowledge of GD&T and fabrication techniques
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills
• Demonstrated aptitude for hands on engineering andtroubleshooting with experience designing and working in challengingenvironments – high temperature, hazardous materials, tight tolerances, etc.
• Experience performing safety and failure analysis
• Proven capabilities in delivering projects on time and onbudget
• Experience with PLCs and programming languages aplus
