Job Description
Works in conjunction with EH&S Manager on investigations involving worker injuries, worker exposures and environmental compliance issues.
Does IH monitoring for the following components:
· Noise Dosimetry
· Noise level monitoring (standard and octave band)
· Audiometry evaluations and report summaries
· Silica monitoring
· Respirable and nuisance dust monitoring
· Welding fume monitoring
· Hexavalent Chromium monitoring for welding, plasma torch and melt operations
· Heavy metals monitoring in finishing, melt and heat treat
· Environmental monitoring as needed to meet IWD permit requirements
· Writes evaluation and exposure monitoring reports for the sampling and analysis done for the above listed contaminants and more
· Describes corrective actions in a manner that is understood by the respective audience to whom it is being given
· Reviews and files reports dealing with worker injuries and follow-up
· Does inspections of the facilities in Arlington, Marysville and Seattle, Washington and completes inspection forms
· Health & Safety Inspections
· Hazardous and State Dangerous Waste inspections
· Non-regulated waste inspections
· Air quality parameter inspections
· Develops mapping parameters to document our hearing conservation program mandatory hearing protection areas/departments and monitors compliance with this program
· Represents SeaCast for required annual audiometry evaluations
· Effectively communicates with all levels of employees at SeaCast
· Cross-trains in other technical areas as designated by EH&S Manager
· Works with a full time EH&S Utility staff member, helping direct their work tasks and planning
Job Requirements:
· Undergraduate degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or other applicable science and technology field
· Able to speak and write English, multi-lingual applicants desirable
· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds routinely
· Must be willing to work some overtime as requested
Most Desirable Applicant:
· 3-5 years of EH&S experience within a manufacturing environment
· Supervisory skills to help direct and manage work by interns and other staff in EH&S
· Ability to work independently with support and mentoring by the corporate EH&S manager
