Job Description
We are seeking a Environmental HealthSafety Manager for our clients Fresno Corporate Office. This position will provide health and safety support to production and our clients personnel in establishing programs and objectives. Supports the development and coordination of safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal/state safety and health regulations.
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000/ year + bonus
Description of Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, coordinate, promote and evaluate safety programs.
- Investigate and resolve safety issues.
- Develop written safety and health programs and policies.
- Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
- Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims.
- Supports plant personnel in the selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Supports corporate/plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
- Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
- Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.
- Audits practices and records to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
- Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
- Manage risk assessments.
- Takes charge of addressing safety concerns and ensures the completion of necessary corrective measures, including follow-up actions.
- Required to maintain safety data sheet updates.
- Accountable for collecting and maintenance of hazardous waste manifests.
- Responsible for all environmental, internal auditing and labeling of secondary containers.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills with presentation experience.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Fluent in writing and speaking Spanish.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to spend 50 to 60% of time on production floor.
Education and/or Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field and/or 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or Safety.
