Job Description
AECOM is seeking for an Entry Level Geologist for our Fort Collins or Denver , Colorado office to assist with a variety of projects including data management, site investigations, and remediation.
The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both the field and office settings.
This position is expected to begin in April 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
The field activities will consist of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and the oversight of subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies.
Field work will be required.
The office activities will involve preparation of investigation reports.
Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology.
Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to understand and supervise advancement of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells.
Ability to demonstrate a primary technical role in multiple site characterizations, subsurface investigations, and remediation projects at various client sites.
Understand and assist with site conceptual models.
Ability to collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
Ability to prepare investigation reports and help coordinate preparation of drawings.
Possesses technical report writing skills.
Independent field work and leadership of field teams.
Experience in contractor oversight.
Keen understanding of hazard recognition for environmental investigations and remediation projects.
Proficient with basic computer programs like MS Word and MS Excel.
Additional Information
Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offered for this position.
Travel up to 60% is required.
Offered rate of compensation ( Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $50,000.08 - $67,258.28/yr.
