As one of the fastest-growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we’re looking for an Engineering Technician - 1st Shift.
Our 1st Shift schedule is Monday - Thursday from 6:30am - 5:00pm, with daily and weekend overtime as needed.
As the Engineering Technician you will work directly with Operations to ensure the day-to-day functions within the Plant are met. You will provide Tier 1 troubleshooting to the production floor, work with Engineering Team to facilitate initiatives for new and existing operations efficiency, engage in process improvement initiatives, and develop and coordinate projects to improve speed, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction. You will work on documenting and updating proper work instruction and processes, investigate and resolve matters of significance on behalf of the company, carry out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business (ensures back up power supply and computer systems for all operations, documents major layout changes, designs coordinates and supervises collection of records to document measurements).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshooting equipment and systems after their installation
- Installing new systems or equipment
- Understanding blueprints and schematics to correctly install a system or piece of equipment
- Helping engineers develop new methods or products
- Communicating with clients about new systems and equipment and how to operate them
- Documenting and updating Work Instructions for clients and engineers
- Suggesting improvements in work processes to increase efficiencies
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Skills in an Engineering capacity
- Attention to detail
- Communication skills
- Ability to use basic computer programs
- Strong math skills
- Knowledge of research and testing methods
- Ability to follow detailed directions
- Understanding of warehousing concepts
- Physical strength and abilities to perform well in the field if necessary
- Ability to collaborate effectively
- Previous internship, co-op work experience in an engineering discipline is a plus.
