Diesel Engine Technician

Stauffer Diesel, a leading distributor of Deutz Diesel Engines, FPT Marine and Industrial Engines, Mitsubishi Diesel Engines and Stadco Generators & Power Products throughout the Northeast and Midwest United States, has an immediate opening for a Diesel Engine Technician Position at our New Stanton, Pennsylvania facility. Work environment mainly in the shop, but field service may at times be required to support our customer’s needs.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of customers off-highway Diesel Engines per manufacturer’s standards.
• Accurately complete company and manufacturer required paperwork.
• Strict adherence to all safety rules and procedures.
• Actively participate in company and manufacturer provided training opportunities.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required, additional technical training in Diesel Repair a plus.
• Experience with common rail fuel systems and exhaust after treatment systems, preferably in a dealership environment
• Basic computer skills with ability to use diagnostic programs.
• Self-motivated, willing to work individually and as part of a team.
• Desire to continually learn and expand knowledge base.
• Above average attention to detail
• Must have own tools.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and MVR check.
• Employment with Stauffer Diesel Inc. requires compliance with the Personnel Policy Manual, both existing requirements and future requirements as amended from time to time.

Work Hours:

Normal working hours are: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. The basic workweek consists of 45 hours. Overtime after 40 hours paid at 1.5 times regular pay. Overtime is frequently available, mandatory at times during busy seasons and labor shortages. Must be reasonably available during off hours to perform emergency service or repairs when customer’s needs require, pay incentive for on-call rotation and extra incentives for call outs.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
