Engineering intern Job Description
Meadowbrook Lithium-Ion plant
What You Will Do

• Re-design of equipment components to reduce machine downtime and scrap.
• Gather and analyze data to prove effectiveness of specific projects.
• Implement 5S opportunities and lean manufacturing principles.
• General aid to engineering team to speed up projects.

How You Will Do It

• Work with Manufacturing Engineers of the Winding and Cell Assembly processes to identify areas of opportunity and receive coaching/instruction for effective solutions in design.
• Use 3D Cad and 3D printing to prototype solutions, following through to implementation.
• Utilize MES system as well as Excel and Minitab tools to gather data; Not only to be used in decision making, but to report out on the ROI of specific projects.
• Gather information from production team members to analyze how to help create a more efficient work environment. (Tools/Instructions are labeled, readily available, and effective)

What We Look For

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing an undergraduate in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Desire to learn and contribute to team goals as well as having a sufficient technical background to learn quickly.
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
• Duration: Summer 2024, 40 hours per week.
• Working Arrangements: On-site based at our manufacturing facility in Holland, MI.

The Meadowbrook facility in Holland Michigan produces lithium-ion battery cells for low voltage automotive applications. We are a team of 90 employees who strive to make an impact in our field by strengthening our manufacturing technique to showcase the value of our product and process in the automotive space.
