About the Role
The Field Application Engineering (Software Only project Engineering in Car Audio) Intern will be working with experienced Senior Engineers and Architects working on the new technologies in Car Audio Space and will get hands-on experience in design experiments and Proof of Concepts. They will learn under the tutelage of best-in-class engineers and architects the core principles of developing, designing, and architecting world-class products. They will assist in issue investigations, system performance evaluation, testing bug fixes, developing test automation and automated reporting, updating products, performing experiments, and documentation.
What You Will Do
- Learn the new HARMAN technologies, features, and perform experiments.
- Discuss and share results with the Senior Engineers, Field Application Engineers, and Architects
- Analyze data for performance metrics and anomalies.
- Learn about the overall audio software and hardware interactions within systems developed by HARMAN as well as how they interact with other components in the vehicle.
- Test developer and release software.
- Assist engineers in issue investigation and triage, collecting, analyzing issues, and creating tickets to help track and narrow down the root cause.
- Support in new pursuits through material preparations
- Help in documenting the products and their design and architecture.
- Supporting multiple customers with the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of third-party and Harman proprietary audio processing algorithms
- Supporting system architects and other members of SOPE team to increase team efficiency
What You Need
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
- Must have some C or C++ programming knowledge.
- Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
- Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Interest in Audio is preferred.
- DSP (Degital Audio Process) experience is preferred.

- Be willing to work in an office in Novi, MI (Hybrid work environment (remote & office) is offered)
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024
