Job description

Job Summary:

This is a working engineering intern role that includes team leadership, quality policy management, and execution of the quality policy with respect to our products and contract work.  Ensure the quality of the parts produced at Navitas meets all customer expectations; quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found. This position requires the ability to read instructions represented in manuals and follow these instructions.  This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment.

Essential/Key Functions:

  • Maintain and enforce the Navitas Quality Policy.
  • Collaborate with Navitas customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
  • Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques
  • Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerance, and materials related issues.
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
  • Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Maintain Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the life of the part.
  • Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
  • Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements as the voice of Navitas' customers.
  • Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Computer Skills:  In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required.  Experience with other quality software applications beneficial. (e.g. statistical analysis)
