ABOUT THE TEAM: Creative, dynamic and hardworking, the legal audience marketing team executes strategies that maintain and grow website traffic & social audience for monetization through advertising and marketing services sales. Effective collaborators, we work with internal departments to prioritize initiatives based on revenue needs. Actionable analyzers, we work with the Intelligence team to measure digital ROI and adjust strategies to meet the needs of the business. The team is comprised of several very talented individuals and we pride ourselves on delicately balancing the needs of the business with delivering exceptional user experiences.
ABOUT THE HOURS: This is a Part Time position working 20 hours/week; 5 hours/day; 4 days/week (2 days in office)
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Email Marketing & Database Usage
  • Increase direct traffic to websites through Email Marketing and consulting on newsletter optimization, focus on engagement and loyalty
  • Build email HTML using Dreamweaver; deploy emails via SailThru
  • Using ALM's audience database, build audience segments for email deployments
  • Adhere to email best practices related to design, messaging, segmentation, and deployment
  • Adhere to CAN-SPAM guidelines

Audience Expertise
  • Gain an understanding of the legal audiences
    • Demographics, firmographics
    • 1st party data available and how to access in ALM audience database
    • Topics/content that is relevant to audiences
  • Define and project audience for large custom programs, digital media RFPs and product development
    • Build models outlining promotions that can be utilized as part of a program and, based on historical performance, how the audience will respond (i.e. what can be delivered). This will vary depending on the program but includes pageviews, impressions, clicks, etc.).
    • Partner with Editorial, Ad Ops and/or Custom Marketing to ensure the models/promo plans you build can be executed.
    • Provide sales team with essential audience data needed for RFPs, custom proposals, etc.

Marketing Campaigns
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns for new and existing products including marketing services programs, job and experts boards, redesigning or launching websites, newsletters, mobile platforms, online features, apps, etc. via not only Email Marketing, but also banner ads, content syndication, social posts and onsite messaging
  • Copywriting for all marketing tactics including banner ads, emails, social posts, etc.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of all marketing tactics; optimize based on results
  • Work to measure ROI and turn the data into marketing/business strategies and campaigns that meet the needs of the business

Industry knowledge
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in all aspects of digital marketing
  • Share digital marketing strategies/ideas/tips in team discussions

Other
  • Partner with internal teams to optimize audience touch-points across relevant digital channels
  • Support for legal events and other projects as assigned and as bandwidth allows

ABOUT YOU:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a business related discipline
  • Three to five years of email and digital marketing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (communication, listening, verbal)
  • Innovative problem-solver who can quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Self-starter with proven record of completing work independently within established deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Competence executing email, digital and social media marketing tactics
  • Working knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver, MS Excel, GSuite
  • Marketing automation software and email list management experience (SailThru a plus)
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics a plus)
  • Knowledge of legal industry a plus
  • Experience in media/publishing industry a plus
