Form of workSchneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our Power Systems organization in January 2024 at our El Paso, TX manufacturing facility.
Participate in, and contribute to, Electrical Engineering related activities that will help the electrical design team within the switchboard project engineering group by helping to improve electrical design processes, reduce end to end complexity, document processes, and create essential electrical designs for our products. Exposed to 'design for manufacturing' principles and processes from design stage to manufacturing stage. Data mining, analysis, and documentation for creating better engineering team insight. Collaborate with local teammates to develop and enhance design and process best practices.
What will you do?
- Develop electrical design documents and engineering aids
- Design basic electric design drawings for switchboards and switchgear equipment
- Work directly with various manufacturing functions to solicit feedback on improving designs and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, planning, materials & project management personnel to meet program goals
What qualifications will make you successful?
- In process to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong problem solving, interpersonal and customer relation skills
- Must be self-motivated and proactive
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
- Programming/Application Development: Visual Basic/Macros
- Knowledge of CAD software for electrical or electronic designs
- Completion of electrical power related courses
- Local to and/or attending school in the El Paso, TX area as we are not able to offer relocation or housing asisstance for internships
