POSITION SUMMARY:
The Education Program Coordinator is responsible for designing, managing, and evaluating educational programming under the supervision of the Director of Education. They manage the JFCS William J. Lowenberg Speakers Bureau, its development, and all internal and external programming involving Speakers Bureau members. The Education Program Coordinator collaborates constructively with the staff of the Holocaust Center to increase and strengthen the engagement of students, teachers, and community members through the power of testimony.
The Education Program Coordinator understands and assists in meeting budget and services goals, understands the mission and objectives of Jewish Family and Children's Services, and works within the limitations of the Agency's resources, and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000
- Employment Type: Full-time, exempt position with benefits
- 16 holidays total (Includes 10 federal holidays & up to 6 Jewish holidays each year)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Speakers Bureau
- Understands and works to meet the goals of the JFCS William J. Lowenberg Speakers Bureau program, providing inspiring and interactive programming to 10,000 people each year with local survivors of the Holocaust and genocide, and their descendants, sharing their stories of survival and beginning a new life
- Hosts, facilitates, manages, and does outreach for Speakers Bureau programs, working closely with speakers, educators, community members, and corporate clients to create meaningful experiences for speakers and attendees
- Assesses community needs and conceptualizes educational opportunities to address Holocaust education in the post-survivor era
- Builds and maintains active relationships with current, past, and potential members of the Speakers Bureau, identifying and creating new opportunities for engagement between Speakers Bureau members and various communities, making referrals to Seniors at Home when survivors need additional support and services
- Designs virtual and in-person educational programs, unique audiovisual presentations, curriculum, and workshops in partnership with Holocaust Center staff inspired by the stories of Speakers Bureau members
- Works with Holocaust Center staff to create curriculum materials for teachers to use as a supplement to the speaker's story and the Speakers Bureau program
- Networks with educators, students, community members, and corporate clients
- Oversees integration of Next Generation Speakers Bureau participants into Speakers Bureau, collecting and designing content for presentations, facilitating their successful engagement with Holocaust Center programming
- Manages survey evaluation in partnership with the Director of Education of Speakers Bureau programming and is involved in the writing of grants requests and reports
Education Programs
- Facilitates educational programs for students and community members in partnership with Holocaust Center staff
- Plan and facilitate programming of 3gSF (grandchildren of survivors group)
- Participate in the programmatic design and execution of public events in close partnership with Holocaust Center staff and the JFCS Marketing Department
- Oversees conceptualization, development, and facilitation of the Conversation Circle program including recruitment, curriculum, evaluation, marketing, and funding in partnership with Holocaust Center staff
- Represents the Holocaust Center at school and community programs, serving as educational faculty as needed, and networks with educators, students, and community members
- Increases engagement between Holocaust Center programming and colleges and universities, empowering students to become community leaders of Holocaust and genocide remembrance
- Designs and facilitates workshops and community events for students, teachers, and community members, develops curriculum and other educational materials in partnership with Holocaust Center staff
- Contributes to creative and logistical development of the annual Yom HaShoah commemoration
- Supervises JFCS high school and University Fellows assigned to the JFCS Holocaust Center, providing assignments, monitoring their activities, and maintaining relationships to ensure continued engagement with JFCS Holocaust Center programming
- Undertakes other duties and special assignments within the program as may be assigned by the Director of Education and the Director of the JFCS Holocaust Center
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and three years working in related fields required
- Knowledge of Holocaust history, Jewish history, tradition, culture and community
- Experience working in the classroom and/or leading informal Education Programming with youth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively communicate and present information to varying audiences. Ability to tailor communications to the appropriate audience, ensuring messages are clear, concise, and impactful
- Experience working with seniors and/or vulnerable populations and supervising volunteers
- Beginner knowledge of the Microsoft Office productivity suite required, including familiarity with the functions and features of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with the functions and features of Zoom and/or other streaming platforms
- Ability to work independently and effectively in cooperation with other members of the team/agency
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both written and verbally, with departmental and agency staff, community members, and educators
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
