Job Description
Amtec is seeking a well experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our valued client, who is a progressive, forward thinking organization. This position is a remote role; however monthly client "in person" meetings are required. This position will cover Northern California. This position offers a base salary and commission.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based upon information gathered from a variety of sources (business directories, industry trade journals, Internet research, etc.).
- Travel throughout the assigned territory, making in-person calls on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
- Quote prices, negotiate credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Enter and expedite quoted orders and contracts
- Estimate the date of delivery to the customer based on knowledge of inventory, production, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare weekly reports of sales activities, business transactions, and expense accounts.
- Work with inside Sales Representatives to keep account activities and literature up-to-date.
- Track stock to ensure ready awareness of stock on hand to facilitate the sales process.
- Maintain complete lead, prospect, and customer activity documentation in the company CRM.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Work with coworkers, purchasing, and other departments to get orders expedited on time.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems.
- Attends trade shows as sources for new leads.
Skills Required:
• A minimum of 2+ years in Outside Sales experience selling flat roll steel.
• Experience and proficient closing skills
• Must have direct experience/strong knowledge of the steel Industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Communication, organization, problem solving & team skills.
• Computer skills & experience with Outlook, Excel & Word.
• Positive, customer service attitude. • Detail-oriented.
• Multi-tasker with flexibility to easily respond to changing business demands.
• Demonstrate ability to quickly forge effective & productive working relationships with all levels of support staff.
