GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as receptionist for the District Office Annex Building where Food Service, Technology, and Federal Programs are housed. Assists in the planning bookkeeping, reporting, and records management of these programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of Union County School District.
- Effectively interacts, communicates and collaborates with students, parents, teachers, co-workers, supervisors, administrators and all other stakeholders.
- Contributes to a safe, supportive, positive, and productive working and learning environment.
- Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff, submits helpdesk tickets, takes messages, and schedules appointments including freight delivery appointments.
- Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and distributes items.
- Greets, directs, and announces visitors to the District Office Annex.
- Maintains office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
- Orders office supplies for the District Office Annex plus banking and office supplies for school kitchens.
- Bookkeeping functions including creation and management of purchase orders, payables, cash receipts, and state and local taxes.
- Submits monthly claim for USDA Reimbursement and all requested documentation to the SC Department of Education Office of Health & Nutrition.
- Asset management to include auditable records of fixed assets, plus monthly values for food, supplies and USDA Commodities.
- Assists Directors with administrative reviews and audits.
- Attends district, state and federal meetings as required.
- Follows current state and USDA federal rules, regulations and standard operating procedures regarding the National School Lunch reimbursable meal program, food safety, and sanitation.
- Complies with all district policies and procedures for these programs.
- Participates in all other professional meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in school food service or a related field with good working knowledge of food service operations.
Skills/Effort:
Ability to maintain, interpret and apply all pertinent regulations and standards related to job functions. Ability to make decisions in routine situations and receive direction from Director in non-routine situations. Possesses skills required to function effectively in an office environment and can operate office equipment. Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy. Ability to anticipate work to be completed and initiate proper and acceptable solutions. Strong written, verbal communications and telephone skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external individuals and groups involved in the operation of the organization.
Salary: To be determined by placement of Support Staff Salary Scale
80% Food Service funding and 20% General Funding
Terms of
Employment: 240 days
