Job Description

 

Job Title: Distribution Warehouse Manager

 

Department: Technology

 

Reports To: Managing Director of Student Services

 

Compensation: $52,250

 

TRS Classification: Classified

 

 

 

Summary:

 

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our asset warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of warehouse staff, ensuring the safe and efficient storage and distribution of goods, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

 
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.

  • Manage and supervise a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

  • Ensure that all warehouse staff follow established safety procedures and comply with all applicable regulations and laws.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking inventory levels, performing regular inventory counts, and reconciling discrepancies.

  • Plan and coordinate the use of warehouse space, equipment, and personnel to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  • Monitor and analyze warehouse performance metrics, such as inventory accuracy, order accuracy, and on-time delivery, and implement improvements as needed.

  • Work closely with other departments, such as purchasing and customer service, to ensure that the warehouse is meeting the needs of the business.

  • Develop and implement procedures for handling and storing hazardous materials, if applicable.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment.

  • Manage and supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to employees to ensure their ongoing development and success.

  • Monitor and manage employee workloads to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

  • Ensure that all warehouse staff follow established safety procedures and comply with all applicable regulations and laws.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and respect for all employees.

  • Address any employee concerns or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to higher management as needed.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, set goals, and provide updates on departmental initiatives.

  • Ensure that all employees receive appropriate training and development opportunities to build their skills and advance their careers.

  • Monitor employee attendance and timekeeping to ensure that all employees are meeting their responsibilities.

  • Manage employee schedules, including vacation time, sick time, and overtime, to ensure adequate coverage.

  • Recognize exceptional employee performance, and address any performance issues or disciplinary actions as necessary.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

 
  • Supervises a team of Distribution Specialists.                   
 

Education and/or Experience:              

 
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.

 

Qualifications:

 
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse management, with a proven track record of success.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.

  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA regulations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to think critically and logically to solve complex problems and make sound decisions.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw insights to inform decision-making.

  • Ability to identify and evaluate multiple options and potential outcomes, and to select the best course of action based on available information and analysis.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address root causes of issues.

  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in data or processes.

  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively to identify new solutions and approaches to challenges.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to develop and implement effective solutions.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality.

 

Language Skills:                              

 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, both verbally and in writing. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  
 

Mathematical Skills:                               

 
  • Basic math skills required.
 

Reasoning Ability:                               

 
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
 

Computer Skills:                               

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google applications and Microsoft Excel.Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

 
  • Current driver's license

 

Other Qualifications:                              

 
  • Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made

  • Must have favorable employment references

This position is based in a warehouse environment. The candidate will be working with various tools and equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery. The work schedule for this position may include weekends and occasional overtime, depending on the needs of the school during peak volume times. The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment while maintaining a high level of focus and attention to detail. The noise level is usually moderate to loud (when machines or equipment are operating).
