Summary
We are looking for a Parking Enforcement Dispatcher to join the City of Charleston's Traffic & Transportation Department! In this role, you will answer, screen, and resolve non-emergent phone calls to support the activities of the Parking Enforcement Officers in the field.
Examples of Duties
- Answers and screens call, transferring emergency calls to Consolidated 911 Center.
- Resolves non-emergent calls by reviewing records, providing appropriate information, and responding to citizen questions and concerns.
- Generates calls for service using a Computer Aided Dispatch system to dispatch and communicate with Parking Enforcement Officers.
- Coordinates with Parking Enforcement Officers to contact tow trucks.
- Monitors street sweeping of parked cars.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to complete SLED Security Awareness Training and NCIC 16 Hour Inquiry Course and obtain certification within first week of employment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year related professional experience.
- Familiarity with computer aided dispatch (CAD) and/or Law Enforcement Message Switch (LEMS) systems preferred.
