The Heavy Equipment Dispatcher & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for dispatching all Heavy Equipment to construction job sites in the most efficient manner possible. Responsibilities include monitoring the location and usage of equipment as well as re-assigning equipment to job sites as needed.
Requirements
- Communicate with drivers, fleet manager, and field crew superintendents regularly; build positive customer/company relationships
- Ensure trucks and equipment are at proper locations at all times
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure all projects are equipped with the proper machinery to maximize productivity and stay in budget.
- Manage maintenance schedule for Company trucks; notify Equipment/Fleet Director when repairs and service is needed
- Constantly monitor location and usage of equipment by communication and site visits
- Coordinate delivery of trucks and equipment to crews as needed; monitor crew's progress and re-assign equipment to crews as needed
- Utilize software and technology to enhance dispatch logistics; update software information regularly
- Participate in weekly scheduling meetings
- Review and enter truck driver timecards for approval by Equipment/Fleet Director
- Establish a Company number for each piece of equipment; apply and maintain number stickers
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with Equipment/Fleet Assistance Manager
- Continuously find ways to improve processes, on-time delivery of equipment
- All other responsibilities as assigned by management
- Support the operators of the Savannah satellite office which may include travel
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of the tri-county area in South Carolina
- Knowledge of Heavy Equipment for construction, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft excel
- High school diploma or GED, Technical Degree Preferred
- Experience with technology and software
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work required schedule from 7:00AM to 5:30PM; Monday through Friday
- Eager to utilize technology to enhance the logistics of equipment dispatch and to aid in problem solving
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with regular communication, frequent phone calls, and interruptions
- Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Highly motivated with the ability to motivate others
