Reporting to Vice President of Business Development, this role positions Stellant Systems for growth across our Space, Air, Sea & Ground, Scientific and Industrial markets through strategically managing transition from vacuum based to solid state based amplifier products. This role will be responsible for developing new markets and customers for our solid state products by developing a robust cross selling strategy, working with the current marketing and Business Development team and engineering to develop an overall market & Business Development strategy and working with key new and existing customers to win new business. The role will require proactively linking the technological capabilities and mission knowledge across Stellant to demand drivers at Stellant’s customers, some of whom may not yet be aware of their need or Stellant’s ability to solve it. Communicate the vision and potential for customers to provide them significant differentiators.
This position is responsible for leadership of the overall Business Development team and delivering the following results:
- Generate a rapid inflection higher in SSPA bookings (book to bill consistently greater than 1.2x)
- Developing a Business Development roadmap and strategy that includes
- Cross selling strategies for both solid state and VED products into new customers/applications
- Migration of existing customers to our solid state offerings
- Feedback loop with the technology team to satisfy current and prospective customer needs
- Leading market strategies to support growth in following markets and more

- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with our customers and key suppliers.
- Establish roadmaps for market pricing for products as well as developing CRAD opportunities to support development.
- Leads creation of Strategic Business plan for our solid state products through development of a clear understanding our Stellant’s markets, customer and products.
- Develops and maintains understanding of market trends for the medical, DoD and Intelligence markets to provide strategic insight into future opportunities and products.
- Communicates strategic plans and status to Executive Leadership, Organizational Stake Holders & Stellant Board Members
- Collaborates with the division General Managers, Engineering, Sales and Business development to create executable marking strategies and Business Development pipelines.
- Sets measurable Business Development goals to support Stellant’s annual operating plan. Provides support to Business Development, sales and program teams to support program capture.
- BS in engineering or physical science that allows the successful candidate to be able to understand and communicate with our technical staff and customers. MS preferred. Equivalent industry experience is acceptable
- 15+ years experience in aerospace & defense with executive roles in Business Development with proven ability to develop lasting relationships with customers.
- Successful track record of developing and executing on strategic growth plans.
- Ability to communicate at executive levels to senior level customers, executive leadership and board members.
