Position Title: Director Strategic Partnership and Business Development

Position Reports To: Executive Director of Business Innovation Center
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salaried
Salary commensurate with experience: $100,000 to $110,000

Days & Hours: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Standard work schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 PM, may be adjusted. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.
BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The Director works under the guidance and in collaboration with the Executive Director to develop and
implement a strategic vision that cultivates, manages and creates enduring partnerships with industry leaders, organizations, businesses, government and non-government organizations, to advance the Business Innovation Center's programs, visibility and engagement in San Francisco, the Bay Area and select overseas University partnerships.
The Director will be responsible and accountable for researching, assessing, building first tier share of mind relationships that lead to increased financial support, content, career advancement for students and consulting opportunities for faculty and adjuncts. An overarching goal is to enhance the visibility of the Ageno School of Business as the anchor business school in the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Represent the Business Innovation Center to senior leaders in the community and corporations by attending and speaking at events, on site visits, and extensive outreach to potential corporate and community partners throughout the Bay Area.
- Position will require extensive out of the office outreach and meetings. It is an external facing position.
- Track, research, analyze market trends in the region, corporate strategies and leadership, evaluate and prioritize opportunities to seek funds from foundations, and ensure fit and mutual strategic objectives between the Business Innovation Center and partners.
- Directly responsible for management and oversight of opportunities that arise from outreach to partners.
- Manage all aspects of partnership relations and Business Development from initial research, framing opportunities and proposals, outreach and engagement, closing transactions and ongoing management of partnerships and specific action items and opportunities with each partner.
- Build and manage corporate and community partner pipeline and dashboard that lists, compiles, monitors and manages relationship next steps and desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with faculty at the Ageno School of Business and throughout the University to jointly identify and build enduring partnerships.
- Provide monthly updates and annual reports assessing progress in meeting key performance indicators developed in conjunction with the Executive Director.
- Education requirement:
- Advanced degree in business or related discipline; ideally at the DBA or PhD level Years of experience:
- Years of Experience:
- 7-10 years of business planning, strategy, and Business Development. Focus on growth strategy and revenue pipeline alignment.
- Knowledge of:
- Business management, data analytics, strategy, research and project design with both academic knowledge and real-world experience
- Direct job-related requirements:
- use of business analytics to evaluate business success and knowledge of practical application analytical tools such as STATA, R, Salesforce, and Tableau.
- Skills and abilities:
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal day to day supervision. Willingness to work at a startup, and requires flexibility, nimbleness and cooperation, collaboration and communication with faculty, staff, alumni and University administration.
- Excellent written and verbal skills and proficient in data base management
- Real world experience, ideally in technology industry, and academic knowledge with experience in Business Development, analysis, and proven financial results
- Preferred, teaching experience as adjunct or TA and ability and desire to teach.
