This leadership position encompasses overseeing the needs of Taylor Distributing, Taylor Warehouse, and Taylor Logistics in Kentucky, Ohio, and Nebraska. As a strategic partner, you will provide executive-level leadership, shaping and guiding the HR operations. Your responsibilities include not only setting and enforcing legally compliant HR policies but also championing DEIB principles. The Human Resource Director will play a vital role in identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals that align with our organizational values, ensuring the continued success of the Taylor Companies since 1850.
The Director of Human Resources will serve the needs of all three Taylor Companies: Taylor Distributing, Taylor Warehouse and Taylor Logistics in Kentucky, Ohio and Nebraska. This position will provide executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR operations. The Human Resource Director will be responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level HR staff
· Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.
· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations to the HR team.
· Ensures discipline and termination of employees is in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management
· Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
· Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs in partnership with executive management.
· Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
· Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
· Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management
· Drafts and implements the organization’s staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
· Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
· Works with benefits vendors to provide best in class benefits at negotiated prices.
· Oversee the Taylor HRIS system to include payroll process & onboarding processes.
· Support recruiting top talent to executive positions.
· Mediating and suggesting solutions to employee disputes
· Compiling information about compensation and benefits packages based on market data.
· Champions employee engagement, company values, organizational health
· Maintains employee handbook.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters or law degree highly preferred
· At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
· HRCI and/or SHRM certifications strongly preferred.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required, master’s or law degree highly preferred.
· At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
· HRCI and/or SHRM certifications strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Prolonged periods of standing during presentations
· Sustained times walking site facilities.
· Must be able to lift upto 15 pounds and up to 25 lbs. at times.
