SAGE Eldercare, a well-established, community-based, nonprofit organization that offers a comprehensive array of services to older adults and their caregivers, is seeking a confident, energetic leader for the position of Director of Development and Communications.
The Director of Development and Communications will be responsible for leading and implementing the organization’s fundraising and development activities. This individual will play a key role in identifying, cultivating, and securing financial support from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and grant-making organizations. As a critical member of the team, the Director of Development and Communications Director will work closely with leadership to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with the agency’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Development
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support for the organization’s programs and activities.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, major gift prospects, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners.
- Research and identify new funding opportunities and grant prospects and prepare compelling grant proposals and applications.
- Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure success.
- Provide regular reporting on fundraising activities, financial progress, and donor engagement to leadership and BOT.
- Hire, manage, and oversee a Development Manager who will assist with stewardship efforts, the Donor Perfect database, and the management of a grant/reporting calendar.
- Develop, implement, and lead marketing and communication strategies to promote the organization and events, in collaboration with staff and board members.
- Create promotional digital and print materials or work with vendors to develop them.
- Oversee and create content for the organization’s website, newsletter, and social media, and identify ways to grow the number of followers on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Manage marketing and Communications calendars and ensure that all communications are accurate and up to date.
- Serve as the liaison for media inquiries and create strategies for media communication around key events or initiatives (e.g., gala, campaigns).
Skills
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in development fundraising or a related field, preferably in a healthcare or elder care environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and related work experience, including nonprofit fundraising and Development and public relations.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and development in a leadership role, with a focus on individual giving, corporate partnerships, and grant writing.
- Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, including stewardship, relationship management, and database management.
- Excellent written and Communications skills, including the ability to craft grant proposals, donor communications, and fundraising materials.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $94,730.00 - $105,595.00 per year
