Job description

Seeking a highly motivated, talented Senior Director of Financial Empowerment & Workforce Developmentto join Norwescap’s team. This position will lead Norwescap’s portfolio of services and strategies related to financial wellness and employment supports. This includes oversight of the service domain containing our Career Life and Transitions Center, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Pathways2Prosperity Program, Financial Empowerment and Family Self-Sufficiency programs, and our AmeriCorps State and National programs.

Location and Travel: This role will require up to 50% travel between program locations within Northwest New Jersey.

Job Duties include:

  • Essential Functions and Oversight. Oversee the staff that operate multiple programs related to financial wellness and Workforce Development. This includes reviewing program budgets; reviewing program reports to various funders; hiring, evaluating and supporting program managers and directors; ensuring processes and procedures are followed related documenting eligibility and outcomes. Report regularly to the CEO on program performance.
  • Team Leadership. Lead a dynamic team of Program Directors and Managers, providing regular supervision and support. Build a cohesive team of professionals and develop new talent.
  • Program Evaluation, Monitoring, and Supporting. Establish and maintain a robust data collection, management, and analysis strategy to identify program-specific outputs and outcomes utilizing quantitative and qualitative data measures. Ensure that all reporting requirements are met for the organizations’ contracts and grants. Report regularly to the Chief Program Officer and the CEO on program performance.
  • Strategy Innovation and Integration. Lead a diverse team to develop new strategies and modify existing strategies in response to evolving community needs and program evaluation data. Create platforms and processes to integrate team members in collaborative strategy making. Support the Chief Executive Officer in development and execution of the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Grant Acquisition and Management. Grant writing to support existing programs and to pursue new programs. Ensure compliance with all contracts and grants held by the organization including reporting, communication with funders, and documentation. Assist the Development Team in developing new private grant proposals and take the lead in developing new proposals for government-funded grants.
  • Fiscal Management. Set and monitor budgets in conjunction with the Fiscal Office. Work with the Accounting Team to ensure that all awarded funds are spent aligned with program budgets and used efficiently. Maintain compliance with the internal controls of the organization and grant requirements.
  • External Affairs. Represent the organization externally at community meetings, conferences, and events. Produce reports of impact for stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related field preferred, or combination of education and related experience
  • Ten years of progressive leadership experience preferred
  • Experience supervising and managing mid-level managers required
  • Experience required utilizing data to drive performance
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products, including Teams
