Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with diverse needs, helping them to live fulfilling and independent lives. Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medication under the supervision of a nurse
- Provide transportation and drive individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings
- Support individuals with dementia care, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected
- Assist with heavy lifting and transferring individuals who have mobility challenges
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in hospice care
- Assist with childcare duties as needed
- Support individuals in assisted living settings, promoting their independence and well-being

Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and providing personal care
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects or assist with transferring individuals who have mobility challenges
- Knowledge of resident rights and ability to advocate for them

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
