SalaryDirect Support Professional Role: Staff's primary role is to provide the appropriate supports tailored to the needs and desires of each individual diagnosed with autism service through CARAFAP. This position may also require being on call. CARAFAP is looking for immediate hire, but your resume must reflect at least 2 years of autism experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide Direct Support services to clients in home and/or in the community
- Encourage and promote client's independence and autonomy skills to provide behavior management strategies and skills
- Ability to handle challenging and difficult clients and situations
- Assist in developing and implementing person-centered plans to help individuals achieve future goals
- In a timely manner, complete all required documents supporting type of services provided to the client (including time and attendance, daily logs, progress and monthly notes, treatment plans, crisis plans, etc.)
- Provide least intrusive methods of intervention
- Provide community integration opportunities by encouraging use of public resources and recreational facilities
- Maintain consumer confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills
Must have adequate transportation
High School Diploma
Effective oral and written communication skills
No criminal record
Must be available to work afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends
2 years of experience with autism
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.25 per hour
