Job Description
We are seeking a Direct Care Professional to help assist our chronically ill clients with everyday tasks. In this position, you may be responsible for bathing, feeding, and providing laundry services for your client. You are also responsible for helping them get to appointments and providing companionship throughout the day. Experience working with the elderly or individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability, whether in a private residence or group home, is essential. While you do not need to be a psychology professional, some behavioral analysis skills are beneficial.
Direct Care Professional Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide companionship for your client
- Assist your client with daily tasks, such as bathing and feeding
- Drive your client to appointments
- Administer medication
Direct Care Professional Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Home health aide or certified nursing assistant credentials (preferred)
- Experience as a caretaker
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
- CPR and BLS certification
