Our Digital Designer and Marketing Specialist creates branded advertising campaigns by collaborating, creating, coordinating, and collating content that is digital, mobile, social media and print.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage digital marketing efforts on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels.
- Lead e-mail marketing initiatives by creating engaging subject lines, graphics, body text and call-to-action to increase desired action.
- Collaborates on a vision and then creates a cohesive brand through graphic design elements and templates used in marketing efforts through seasonal program guide, e- newsletters, social, and print collateral.
- Personally motivated to learn current and newly emerging technology, strategies, and techniques.
- Desire to enhance content on various park district websites, developing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Creates designs for multi-media use throughout the district marketing materials.
- Serve as part of the department team that supports the district's photographer and videographer needs.
- Collaborate with vendors in a timely and accurate manner to meet our ordering, proofing, and receiving expectations.
- Creates and maintains a social media calendar with events, schedules and deliverables clearly delineated.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide excellent customer service and assistance.
- Demonstrate superior attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.
- Assist at park district special events, including evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the enumerated responsibilities.
- Adept at navigating and leveraging the latest digital and social media trends to align with the ever-changing digital landscape.
- A minimum of two years of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects); and Microsoft office or equivalent digital marketing editing tools a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital still and video camera operation, including post-production skills.
- Keeps abreast of current design trends, marketing and technical software advances.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and to successfully handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work successfully within a multicultural/multigenerational staff and patron population.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in content generation, with a focus on creating engaging and effective marketing materials.
- Knowledge and experience with A/B test email content to optimize performance, tracking key performance metrics.
- Candidate should be able to provide a portfolio showcasing a range of content creation skills, including professional or personal projects.
- High School diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred.
The Digital Designer and Marketing Specialist is a full-time non-exempt position.
Targeted hiring range is $22.50/hr - $26.50/hr. Approximate salary equivalent $45,000 - $55,000 based on qualifications & experience.
