*POP contract length: 3 months
Job Description Details:
Responsible for evaluation, design, development, implementation, analysis, and testing of certain aspects of electrical systems or subsystems. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering field. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Support IRAD project to develop new products. Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. May require some business related travel. Work under general supervision. Report to a supervisor or manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide engineering support for existing program. Primary duty is to perform FPGA functional allocation, design, simulation, synthesis, routing, and testing. Contractor may also prepare and maintain block diagrams, schematics and component information. Prepare and present design reviews. Establish printed circuit board (PCB) layout guidelines. Oversee PCB layout design, PCB fabrication, and circuit card assembly (CCA) and perform checking activities. Evaluate and characterize prototype units, as well as assisting with product testing and validation. Generate product specifications and document the design work. Release engineering and manufacturing documentation to support projects. Also support manufacturing activities such as, planning and materials procurement.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Knowledge of programmable logic, microprocessors, real-time systems, analog and Digital Designs, and Linux.
Must have design and test experience with Xilinx Vivado design tool flow, EDK, MicroBlaze processor, and Xilinx Kintex-7 or Virtex-7 FPGA.
Must have hands on experience with VHDL design.
Design experience with sRIO/Aurora/PCIe interfaces a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Good problem solving skills.
Experience in defense systems designs a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required. Education Requirements:
At least 3 yrs experience with a Bachelors of Science degree or 1 yr with a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
