Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be a driving force in the implementation of Model Based Definition, Manufacture & Inspection (MBDMI), a pivotal step towards a revolutionary "digital transformation" at the forefront of efficiency and effectiveness.
MBDMI involves eliminating 2D drawings and replacing them with a 3D Solid Model as the design authority which contains digitally annotated product information needed for manufacture and inspection. This eliminates the need to manually translate information from a traditional drawing when it is consumed by our internal manufacturing centers, quality teams and suppliers.
This role will support an R&D facility focused on the manufacturing maturation of ceramic matrix composite (CMC) turbine components. CMCs are an enabling material that increases the temperature capability of jet engine components. Through successful development and application of these materials, P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient, lighter weight and more durable for commercial and military application.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead MB-DMI implementation at the CMC Center of Excellence
- Lead implementation of standards, digital tools, and training for future state creation of Product definition, manufacture, and inspection
- Identify Model Based Design requirements to support overall digital thread between Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and MBDMI.
- Support site initiative to implement Industry 4.0 principles, including Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), ML, and automation solutions.
- Apply data analytics to identify trends and relationships within the digital thread to improve processes and predict component life based on process data and field conditions (Product Digital Twin)
- Digitally model processes and the entire CMC supply chain (Process and System Digital Twins)
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

- Master's degree from an ABET accredited school
- Experience with CMCs or composite materials
- Strong knowledge of product design and definition
- Previous CIPT, IPT or System integration experience and SAP experience.
- Exposure to manufacturing, quality, and aftermarket operations.
- Manufacturing Execution System Lifecycle experience
- Being able to be super-user for Model Based Enterprise eco-system.
- Previous background in Connected Factory development and deployment
