The Development Manager is responsible for directing and managing development activities and processes for assigned projects within the pipeline from site assessment through restaurant opening in support of the company's strategic growth plan.
The position includes but is not limited to the following key responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Manager of Development
- Responsible for managing development activities, processes, and schedules for assigned projects within the pipeline including but not limited to site assessment, due diligence, Landlord coordination, design, entitlements, and permitting
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external consultants including Real Estate, Legal, Operations, Architects, Engineers, Landlord, Attorneys, etc.
- Lead design development by managing architects, engineers, and other consultants.
- Responsible for project delivery and hand-off to the Construction team per the executed Work Letter, Lease, and project schedule with the appropriate entitlements and approvals in place
- Manage, coordinate, and attend project meetings to discuss development schedules and ensure processes are on track
- Support Franchise Business Consultant, as needed
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Real Estate, Architecture, or related field
- Thorough working knowledge of Windows-based computer software including strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
- Minimum of 5+ years related experience in development and construction required, with at least 2 years in the restaurant industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Strong analytical and solutions-focused mindset
- Ability to manage, coordinate, and prioritize competing and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, detail-oriented, and have strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated, requiring limited supervision within the area of responsibility
- Strong communication skills to communicate successfully with the leadership team, team members, vendors, architects, etc.
- Flexibility with work hours with up to 20% travel
