OVERVIEW:
InterAct Ministries is seeking a motivated and passionate Development Director who shares our vision to multiply disciples and churches across the North Pacific Crescent (Western Canada, Alaska, Siberia). This individual will lead our efforts to secure the necessary funding and prayer base to advance our efforts far beyond our current reach.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Director role will inform and develop current and prospective donors toward a growing involvement with InterAct’s mandate to make disciples who gather as churches.
GOALS:
This position focuses on cultivating and multiplying donor relationships through strategic fundraising and donor engagement initiatives which align with InterAct’s values and beliefs.
- Design a unique strategic fundraising plan that best aligns with InterAct’s overall vision.
- Relationally invest with like-minded major donors and prospective donors.
- Implement effective fundraising which multiplies InterAct’s donor base both numerically and financially.
- Grow key internal partnerships and build beneficial external networking relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning
- Analyze diverse fundraising options and develop the most effective fundraising strategy
- Set bold yet reachable fundraising goals
- Identify prospective individual and corporate major donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships
Donor Engagement
- Cultivate relationships with major donors by ensuring they are appropriately appreciated and are regularly given an awareness of how their gifts are being utilized
- Create personalized opportunities to give partners—both current and prospective—ways to be directly involved with InterAct’s ministries
- Invite participation with InterAct through prayer, finances and volunteer service
Effective Fundraising
- Create successful and efficient relational fundraising activities and events
- Develop planned giving initiatives to be well-positioned for transfer of wealth
- Evaluate effectiveness of fundraising strategy and recommend improvements
Partnerships and Networking
- Effectively collaborate with all InterAct departments
- Partner with publications team for input into newsletters, brochures, etc.
- Keep abreast of current donor relation strategies of other non-profit organizations and ministries
SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS:
* Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
* Regularly attend and participate in an evangelical church.
* Have a lifestyle reflective of a mature and consistent Christian commitment and walk with the Lord.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of Scripture and the ability to apply it in life situations.
* Agree with and adhere to InterAct’s Statement of Faith, policies and practices.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
* 2+ years’ effective fundraising experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or related field preferred
* Experience and knowledge in event planning
* Able to work with people from across a spectrum of evangelical positions/practices
* Cross-cultural experience a plus
* Able to connect with and relate to all generations and people in various settings
* Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
* A self-starter; proactive in initiating activities
* A team player, but also able to work without direct supervision
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
* Experience using donor management software, preferred
Location: - U.S. office in Boring, OR (suburb of Portland)
- Optional hybrid remote/in-office work schedule (requires occasional time in US home office)
- Travel is required
Classification: Full-time, salaried, exempt
Compensation: $70-90k DOE
