Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Director ofAnnual Giving & Development Operationsto join our Development team!

TheDirector ofAnnual Giving & Development Operationsoversees and analyzes Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette's (PPCW) comprehensive annual fund program, with a focus on community centric fundraising and ensuring application of an equity lens in all areas. The Director oversees the Annual Giving team - which is responsible for the project management and execution of the annual fund program - and the Development Operations team - which is responsible for gift processing and receipting, and database administration. This position is responsible for developing, with the team, a data-driven strategy to acquire, retain, and upgrade the Annual Giving program.
Additionally, this position oversees the stewardship program of Annual and mid-level donors, manages a mid-level donor portfolio, and manages the signature event. The position will occasionally represent PPCW at external events and fundraisers.
The Director ofAnnual Giving & Development Operations is a part of the Development Leadership Team, in partnership with the Director of Philanthropy, who work closely with the Vice President of Development (VP) in the oversight of operations and strategy for the departments, including producing necessary reports, strategy, and analysis for the Executive Council and Board of Directors.
Compensation: Starting rate of pay is $85,000 or more annually, depending upon experience.

Schedule: Full-time (40 hrs/wk) Monday - Friday.

  • Employees may be requested or required to occasionally work other days (including weekends), hours and locations to meet operational needs.

Position Details: Hybrid/remote work options will be discussed in the interview process. This is a non-represented, salaried (exempt) position. PPCW complies with all Federal and State Covid-19 Vaccine Mandates.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's level degree in one of the following fields: Business, Public Affairs, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or similar study; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five (5) years successful experience in development or sales, with a proven track record of successfully meeting or exceeding annual fundraising or revenue goals, and successful team management and mentorship.
  • Demonstrated success in managing mid to large scale special events.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in donor management software.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, active listening and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and goals of PPCW.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Successful experience in public speaking.
  • Experience in Raiser's Edge/NXT.

Essential Functions:
Annual Giving
  • Leads strategy and oversees implementation of a comprehensive annual fund strategy with Annual Giving and Development Operations teams - including direct mail, external giving campaigns, stewardship, mass supporter emails, Oregon's Charitable Checkoff Program, and more.
  • Ensures annual fund plan is on track. Provides VP with reports to closely monitor fiscal year progress.
  • Develop Annual Giving budget and monitor annual fund performance.
  • In collaboration with Major Gifts team and Donor Engagement Manager, create and oversee mid-level giving program, including management of a mid-level donor portfolio.

Event Planning
  • Responsible for all aspects of signature event planning, including managing committee, event vendors, contracts, and logistics.
  • In charge of identifying and securing speakers and planning all travel and accommodations accordingly.
  • Develop and oversee execution of event program, including event timeline, talking points, and briefings.
  • In collaboration with Director of Philanthropy and VP, solicit event sponsorships and ticket buyers.
  • In collaboration with the Donor Engagement Manager and the Marketing and Communications team, oversee all event graphic design and collateral production.
  • Provide on-site logistical management and support for various fundraising events.
  • Ensure proper follow-up and stewardship are completed in a timely manner.

Operations
  • Oversee Development Operations team to ensure timely and accurate gift processing, gift acknowledgement, reporting, and database functions.
  • Lead process improvement strategy and oversee improvement implementation.
  • Oversee Development policies and procedures and serve as primary author.
  • As needed, serve as the primary contact to outside vendors and consultants for Database implementation and upgrade process, as well as on-going system maintenance.

Other Responsibilities
  • Help to manage discretionary budget items and work on yearly department budgets.
  • May require evenings, weekend and early morning work hours as needed to meet business needs.
