Detox Nurse is responsible for supervision, evaluation, and monitoring client’s detoxification progress. The Detox Nurse works directly with the Physician in providing direct client care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the self-administration of medication policy to document and observe client medication regimen for all clients at the facility.
- Ensure client / patient medical stabilization and safety
- Collaborate with Medical Director for medications, detox protocols and medical clearances
- Monitor appropriate urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests
- Maintain awareness of physical, nutritional and personal care needs for the client
- Report client condition to Medical Director, Clinical Team and Program Directors
- Measures and records clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration when required.
- Evaluates health concerns and directs clients to emergency medical care when required.
- Works as part of a health care team to assess client needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions.
- Reviews medication logs and consults with both clients and physicians regarding refills.
- Assists the Program Manager in overseeing clients at Detox/Residential level, undertaking visits with them at residential facilities if required.
- Facilitates educational groups on medication management.
- Reviews documents and records pertaining to breath analysis and urine test samples from clients.
- Coordinate with admissions staff and review any and all prescreening assessments of potential clients for intake.
- Knowledge of policy and procedure manual relating to program protocol
- Reviews all resident files on a regular basis to insure quality care assurance.
- Maintain and adhere to all federal, state and county regulations regarding client confidentiality and staff code of conduct.
- Plan, oversee and hold regular trainings of program protocols to the staff on a regular basis.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations,CARF, DHCS and Joint Commission policies and procedures.
- Review pre-certification forms to determine program eligibility and appropriateness
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid LVN Licensure required or Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN).
- 2 years’ experience working as LVN
- Ability to prioritize and provide appropriate treatment protocols
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR

- Proof of recent TB test
- Flexibility with hours and scheduling
- Must be legally able to work in the United States
