Job title: Demand Management Planner I
Location: Alpharetta, GA 30004

Description/Comment:
  • The role will provide leadership for best practices of Demand Management processes leading to the achievement of business objectives.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating demand and supply strategies for the region, leading to synchronized production of mill and supplier operations, deployment of stock, and reduction of inventories and maximization of customer service.
  • This role is also responsible for leading the integration of demand planning activities for newly acquired businesses.
  • This position will work with Business Planning, Production and Materials Planning, Sales and Marketing, Deployment, Customer Service, International Demand Managers, and Distribution Operations team members and Managers.

Responsibilities:
  • Forecasting
  • Generate a 24 months accurate rolling forecast for a specified category of products.
  • Challenge, assess, and maintain justifications for increase/decreases in the forecast through interaction with sales and marketing teams and challenge assumptions through rigorous analysis.
  • Provide suggestions to improve the forecasting process and performance of the demand planning system and lead continuous improvement programs that will improve the accuracy of demand forecasts.
  • Provide input to the long-range business demand forecasts and to the potential volume opportunities of alternative marketing/sales programs
  • Manage Category Monthly Demand Review process for a particular product group leading to the sign-off of the regional level forecast by the Marketing Director and input to the S&OP global demand review.
  • Perform analysis of change to the forecast, highlight significant changes and develop cadence for communicating changes to the production planning team.
  • Act as Key User and Subject Matter Expert for the forecasting tool (OMP) and related processes and systems.
  • Demand Management
  • Develop new product launch plans, including high side/low side demand scenarios and expected cannibalization.
  • Design and implement demand segmentation strategy
  • Coordinate collaborative demand and planning activities with strategic customers
  • Lead the demand planning integration of new businesses
  • Facilitates communication with other functions to create an awareness of the impact of accurate demand forecasting.
  • Coordinate global demand planning and forecasting activities, aggregate global demand data, and report to key stakeholders.
  • Supply Chain Planning
  • Execute the process of finished goods inventory target setting to deliver service goals and inventory targets for the region.
  • Develop and execute rollover management plans designed to minimize write-offs and maintained service objectives
  • Establish process to maintain and audit master data inputs critical to supply chain planning systems
  • Utilize simple problem solving to identify gaps in processes and develop plans to implement identified improvements
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt best practices around end to end supply chain planning
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or other related field.
  • Excellent Analytical and Communication skills
  • Demonstrated improvements in previous S&OP role
  • High functional working knowledge of MS Excel (expert level) and MS Access
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (demand planning) within a supply chain
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management experience
  • Forecasting experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 DP APO, JDA or other industry proven forecasting software
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • APICS CPIM

Additional Job Details:Position Purpose:
  • This position will provide leadership for the process development, tool development, and best practices for demand planning to ensure efforts contribute to the attainment of business objectives.
  • The incumbent is responsible for forecasting market demand for a specified group of products that will allow synchronized production of mill and supplier operations, deployment of stock, reduction of inventories and maximization of customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate an accurate 24 month rolling forecast for a specified category of products. Deliver on Forecast Accuracy Key performance indicators.
  • Challenge, assess, and maintain justifications for increased and decreases in the forecast.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure that there is good business input into the forecast and challenge assumptions through rigorous analysis. Provide suggestions to improve the forecasting process and performance of the demand planning system and lead continuous improvement programs that will improve the accuracy of demand forecasts.
  • Develop the sales pipeline process leading to proactive identification of new customer demand Collaborate with strategic customers on demand planning opportunities, leading to quick identification of demand changes within lead times Provide input to the long-range business demand forecasts and to the potential volume opportunities of alternative marketing/sales programs Manage Monthly Demand Review process for a particular product group leading to the sign-off of the regional level forecast by the Marketing Director and input to the S&OP global demand review.
  • Be the forecasting expert on a given product group and drive improvements in forecast accuracy and error.
  • Educate others on the behavior of the product group. Lead the new product launch Demand Management process and ensure alignment of the plan with marketing and product supply Provide information as to the conformance of actual sales to forecasted volume.
  • Identify and track contributing factors to sales forecast errors.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs to improve sales forecast accuracy, forecasting processes, and systems.
  • Update Sales Reporting including Key Distributor Reports and run rates. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field. Excellent Analytical and Communication skills High functional working knowledge of Excel 1-2 years experience in a supply chain, customer facing, financial or similar type role Project Management experience (Preferred) Forecasting experience (Preferred) Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, OMP+, JDA or other industry proven forecasting software (Preferred) Knowledge of SAP BW Reporting (Preferred) APICS-CPIM is a plus Demonstrated improvements in previous S&OP role (preferred)
