The college invites applications for a full-time Data Manager 1 with demonstrable professional experience with operating system and software configuration, hardware maintenance, network troubleshooting, and developing IT solutions. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to independently complete long term projects while responding to immediate demands, a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and contribute to positive interaction, and excellent attention to detail and methodical problem solving.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage IT resources of the college including workstations, instructional technology, server systems (Linux and Windows), application suites, digital signage, and instances on third-party platforms. Procure and deploy equipment as part of departmental lifecycle replacement plan and to carry out new initiatives. Supervise and train student workers contributing to IT services. Maintain knowledge of university policies regarding information technology and ensure college IT resource compliance. 45%
Collaboratively develop college application resources including web applications, data processing, and scripting in support of operations and initiatives. 20%
Support end users including staff of the college and faculty members teaching in college classrooms. Monitor the status of IT resources, respond to emergent disruptions, and conduct maintenance operations in outside hours or on weekends to minimize impact on services. 15%
Develop monitoring solutions and produce periodic reports on the status of IT resources. Meet regularly with the Assistant Dean to communicate IT resource needs. 10%
Other duties as assigned by the Dean or Assistant Dean. 10%
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience.
Specific Experience - Experience with securely managing workstations and improving computing systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree with 1 year of experience.
Specific Experience - Experience developing IT solutions, including programming of web-based applications, data analytics pipelines, and/or database systems.
Additional Requirements:
- FERPA -As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services.
