JOB SUMMARY:
This role involves outside sales activities aimed at promoting the company's products and services, as well as nurturing relationships with new and existing accounts. The primary objective is to support Sysco customers in their success while reaching the sales and profit targets set by the company. This position may necessitate working non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to effectively meet customer demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop new business opportunities, retain existing accounts, and reduce lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and specific targets within the designated territory
  • Identify and assess prospects in line with company account stratification objectives
  • Research customer requirements and curate a product and service mix to fulfill those needs
  • Analyze market trends and recommend suitable products to customers based on their business goals and requirements
  • Stay updated on market conditions, product advancements, and competitor offerings to share valuable insights with customers as part of enhanced services
  • Address customer queries regarding products, pricing, availability, and product application
  • Offer product information and hands-on training to customer staff
  • Drive to customer accounts, events, conventions, etc., in own vehicle
  • Handle accounts receivable collection as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients to ensure timely payments
  • Coordinate deliveries per the transportation department's schedule, resolving any order-related issues that arise (e.g., out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory)
  • Engage in company events, marketing initiatives, customer visits, and related activities
  • Participate in general sales and district meetings
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions
  • Support in training new employees upon request
  • Analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, sales data, and gross profit margins
  • Handle administrative tasks like preparing sales budgets, reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR HSD/GED and 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales, or equivalent experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingualism
Preferred experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef role

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no multiple DUIs in the last 2 years), Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits


Requirement:

  • Pass pre-employment screening (Drug Test, Background Check)
  • Agree to Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory
